Even though it all was wrong We would dance until the break of dawn Even when there were no songs We would dance until the break of dawn Even though our time had come We would dance until the break of dawn Even when it all went wrong We would dance until the break of dawn Even though they all had gone We would dance until the break of dawn Even when it all was done We would dance until the break of dawn Even though we don't belong We would dance until the break of dawn Even when it all went wrong We would dance until the break, baby Didn't know, didn't know that you needed saving Out on the floor, we're just misbehavin' Didn't realize we were both mistaken While outside the whole world had started breaking Didn't know, didn't know that you needed saving Look at me now, my arms are shaking Didn't realize that you were crying While outside All the birds had stopped from flying Even though it all was wrong We would dance until the break of dawn Even when there were no songs We would dance until the break of dawn Even though they all had gone We would dance until the break of dawn Even when it all went wrong We would dance until the break, baby

Exist in quiet skin, on your way home Exist in quiet wind, You wear your hair long all night long You breathe in neon waterfalls I hear your voice echo and shatter all my walls Dance in quiet ground Live in your breath, live in your breath Live for what you once found Avoid what's next, avoid your death Streetlights are dripping into our room Streetlights confuse us, they look just like the moon Whisper your lovely hymn on the way home You know you're a delicate friend You wear your hair long all night long I hear you dreaming out loud in your sleep I hear you whisper things I will never be Dance on hollowed ground A hidden theft, a poisoned breath Lose the things you once found My arms will stretch my arm's will I hear you as loudly as a violent stream I see you as vivid as a ghost in someone else's dream ( someone else's dream ... )

Walk! My feet are filled with sand Anyway, any day you planned Walk along the shoreline with you Your eyes slice the night through my room I'm feeling tired of my gloom Your face looks out the window too soon Walk along the scattering clouds I know you know my doom Any harder, can you tell it to me babe? I'm watching the world change with you Any harder, can you tell it to me babe? I watch the world change with you Lightning storm scatter through the sky The island clouds drift across your eye Lights go out and the color's blue Your head falls into my side I watch it all shift with you We see the fortune in the sand Reading palms, I touch your hand Anyway, any day you planned Any harder, can you tell it to me babe? I'm watching the world change with you Any harder, can you tell it to me babe? I'm watching the world change with you Lights go out We sit with the moon Then we walk by the flowers that bloom I move in motion with water and you I know you know it's true Any harder, can you tell it to me babe? I'm watching the world change with you Any harder, can you tell it to me babe? I'm watching the world change with you

Anywhere you are along the road, I want you here with me Anywhere you are along the road, I want you here with me Slow motion dip into freedom Slow motion dip into freedom Jagged lines and icicles on the side of the road (I want you here with me) Crystal sky and animals are in front of the road (I want you here with me) Its a slow motion dip into freedom Slow motion dip into freedom Candy colored paint dripping off the side of our walls (I want you here with me) Cigarette smoke drifting through haunted hotel walls (I want you here with me) Its a slow motion dip into freedom A slow motion dip into freedom

Sitting down, I could read ashes I could read unknown diaries Lifting up to the sky I could walk, Put both my shoes on Put myself in motion I could unlock the pages Bleeding to unknown centuries We all just live in the past There are no quiet footsteps anymore I don't call my family Every day's a blur Lifting our broken eyes to unknown worlds I don't call my lovers Every lie's a blur Lifting our broken ears to unknown words One day we'll be forgiven And that day will hurt While all the sorrowful mothers wave behind closed doors Waiting for forgiveness, while we get ours My door is begging, my door is begging, my door is begging To be shoved wide open And my arms are waving One day you're born The next day you know The day you wave goodbye All the pages drip off a cosmic skeleton I write a love song for falling leaves and changing winds And sing it out loud You know when you're dancing, you make your mother proud You know when you're dancing, You make your mother proud

When I think you could be with other guys, it makes my heart grow cold, I realize that when you're in my arms most every night, it makes my heart glow warm, I feel alright And when we drive down town in your new car, your eyes shine brighter than the place we are I hold my breath until I realize ... You make my nights and days better now. Your eyes shine brighter than the bright blue star I never have to wonder where we are (You make my nights and days better now)

Luxury Smile 04:34
Cynthia, you'd be on for days until you'd escape into your electric maze Cynthia I would meet you there Until you'd vanish into the invisible air It felt so good, I would have you near And then your voice was taken by fluorescent tears We would laugh for sometimes hours Until your fears burst into the greedy flowers I would meet you there for a little while Run my hands through your hair Walk around in your smile You would sometimes be on But nothing's going on in the city right now, We both know, don't we ? You're in your yard now, you look at the moon Oh I must've said everything much too soon You're in the clouds now You're above the sky Its not a metaphor, I only see you when you try Silver earrings and a gorgeous wait Oh I never knew that I arrived to you too late Since you've been gone, I've been caught in a daze I feel you in each and every interrupting wave And I would meet you there (in the half-lit mile) Run my hands through your hair Bathe in your luxury smile We used to both be on But nothing's going on in the city right now, We both know, don't we ? We both know, don't we? We both know, don't we?

Its like I'm on a spaceship Thinking of the rain to come Praying for the rapture Dreaming of oblivion You said it wouldn't be like this At that time I used to run Searching just to exist You are doing this for fun dream softly, dream softly, now Staring down a black hole The tears we made are never done A palm filled with fool's gold You were second just to none Watch another witness jumping straight into the sun Praying for forgiveness Praying for oblivion dream softly, dream softly, now Look at the rain Its the ocean that you feel You'll have adventures, still ...

about

Nine songs about finding movement and hope during periods of stillness and crumbling.

Official album bio:

Still Adventures, the first album from Nate Wey and the Soft Colors, pulls from a psychedelic dream-pop chest, equal parts Velvet Underground, PJ Harvey, and David Lynch.

Wey's songs capture the daze and confusion that came as the Covid shut-down lifted – with unexpected flashes of country twang that make this collection of songs stand out from Wey’s previous albums, both his solo lock-down record, and his years with Souvenir Driver.

Still Adventures was recorded at Trench Studios with Gregg Williams (co-producer of the Dandy Warhols’ 13 Tales of Urban Bohemia, engineer for Blitzen Trapper, and ex drummer for Sheryl Crow). It features contributions from a dynamic roster of local musicians, including Sarah Nienaber (Shady Cove), Tobias Berblinger (Kassi Valazza, Roselit Bone), and Kyle Cregan (Smile Pile, James Jones and the Chupacabras).

about

Nate Wey and The Soft Colors Portland, Oregon

The universe contains infinite stars and space. The term "infinite" was invented by humans to somehow help us comprehend this vastness, which can feel either mystically inspiring or nightmarishly overwhelming, depending on our mood, a mood often influenced by our local environment.

The Soft Colors are a dream pop/indie band from Portland. With members of Blitzen Trapper, Black Doors, and others.
